Helpful Tips
Download the Space Coast Area Transit app. Buy day passes in seconds. Track buses live around Cape Canaveral. No paper tickets, no hassle.
Route 9 runs every 30 minutes. It links Port Canaveral cruise terminals to Cocoa Beach and Cape Canaveral hotels. Ride is smooth, seats plentiful.
Look for the Uber/Lyft signs. Each cruise terminal posts clear pickup zones. Follow them to the designated rideshare areas. Drivers wait there.
Jetty Park parking vanishes fast on launch days. Arrive before 8 AM to claim a spot. Miss it? Satellite lots run shuttles to the beach.
Common Scams to Avoid
Unlicensed 'gypsy' cabs at the cruise-shuttle pickup zone outside the terminal quote flat cash rates that can be double the metered fare. Only use marked taxis from the official airport queue or pre-book through the partner widget below to lock in a standard rate.
Rideshare drivers sometimes claim the designated pickup area is 'closed' and insist on starting the trip from the departures curb, triggering increase pricing. Check the in-app map for the correct ground-transport zone and insist on meeting there. If the driver refuses, cancel and request a new ride.
Baggage porters near the rental-car shuttle stop offer to 'help' with luggage onto the shuttle, then demand cash tips that exceed normal porter rates. Politely decline assistance unless you specifically requested it, or agree on a small gratuity up front if you need help.
